 Skilled – Nominated (subclass 190)

skilled-nominatedThis points-based visa is for skilled workers who have been nominated by a State or Territory.  The person with this visa can work and live permanently in Australia, and certain members of the family can be included in the application – partner, dependent children of the applicant and/or partner, and a dependent relative of of the applicant and/or partner.

190 visa criteria

  • be invited to apply through an Expression of Interest application

  • be under 50 years old when you are invited to apply

  • have an occupation that matches your qualifications and skills on the Skilled Occupation List

  • have your skills assessed by the assessing authority for your industry. The Skilled Occupation Lists tell you the authority beside each occupation

  • have a minimum of ‘competent’ English proficiency

  • score a minimum of 60 points on the points test

  • meet the health and character requirements for this visa

 

Applying for the Visa

Once your Expression of Interest application is successful, you will receive an ‘invitation letter’ which will tell you the next steps.  You have 60 days to submit your application online after you receive this letter. You can apply from inside or outside Australia.

Refer to the checklist of documents that you will need for your application. As you only have 60 days to lodge your form, will may to start collecting them as soon as possible.
